Description

Dancing Pure Yak is a part of our Pure Cotton Collection which is a unique series of baby wraps made from natural undyed sustainable cotton and natural yak wool. The undyed cotton combined with the natural yak wool makes the wrap extremely soft and beyond amazing to wrap with. The wrap is woven in our renown ever changing twill pattern and is the perfect wrap for new-born’s because of the extreme softness. This is also the perfect wrap if you wish to wrap your baby in materials taken straight from nature.

Throughout the wrap are placed beautiful natural inlays in handspun cotton creating artisan lines of softness.

Yak wool is an exclusive wool which has been used by nomads in the Trans-Himalayan region for over a thousand years. Yak wool is considered a completely sustainable wool because yaks are raised in nature in the highlands around the Himalayan region, and do not require intense grazing. The wool is collected in a non-invasive manner as it simply comes off by itself in large piles and the wool can be processed without using harsh chemicals. Yak is very breathable and it regulates the body temperature the same way as sheep’s wool. As the body temperature rises, the wool has the ability to transfer heat and moisture along every fiber and release it into the cooler, drier environment, and when the temperature drops it keeps the heat in. This means that the wrap can be used both summer and winter. Furthermore, unlike most wool, the yak’s coat does not contain lanolin and is therefore relatively unlikely to cause itch or other allergic reactions.
